New Post!

I know everyone is wondering what has happened to me since graduation. I haven't really blogged much this summer...I have a few exscuses, but I wil leave them out. Anyway, instead of posting a huge blog full of words detailing what I have been up to I thought I would include a few pictures instead...so enjoy the ones below. :)


I of course have been spending a lot of time with my friends in town. It is nice to be back and to be able to spend more than a weekend with them. :)



Early on in the summer we celebrated my grandparent's 60th anniversary. I can't even imagine being married one year at this point...so 60 is amazing!

I also celebrated my 21 birthday in July! It was pretty great. I was able to celebrate earlier in the week with my friends and then later with my family at a great dinner. So far it has been fun being 21. :)


In mid July I was in a wedding for one of my best friends. It was a beautiful wedding and "the gang" had a great time the whole week getting ready. Bachlorette Party, Rehearsal, and wedding day prep. Plus as always "the gang" had an after party as well...





This last week I went up to see my grandparents. They are moving soon, so we were enjoying eachother's company at their house. It was really great, as always.


We sat out on the front porch and enjoyed the heat. :)





We got a big kick out of Mike. He was the center of attention as usual. :)


The sunset there was pretty amazing.


Other than all of that I have just been hanging out with family and friends. It has seemed to keep me pretty busy...now...do you feel somewhat caught up?

It is amazing how two weeks of half looking for a job can make one have all sorts of doubts. There is nothing I hate more than looking for a job. I always feel inadequate. It is annoying because I don't even really know what I want to do. It is odd the different pressures one puts on oneself. I assume everyone expects all these things of me when really I doubt anyone expects much of me at all.

Moving back to Longview has been interesting....It is the little things I guess. Like reprogramming all of my radio buttons in my car...and realizing that I have about 3 friends and if they are all busy life could get pretty dull. And living at home is not as glamourous as it once was. lol. I have virtually no space of my own and my stuff is scattered everywhere because it has no real place it should be! It could very well drive me batty by the end of the summer.

Oddly enough I hate getting up in the morning and realizing I have nothing to do that day. As much I like watching tv there is really only so much worth watching (especially without cable, heh)...All and all I am pretty annoyed with my life right now. I guess I shouldn't be because in a few months I will be wishing I could just be on the couch all day. Why is it we can never be happy with where we are? I know I am always looking to the future. It kinda sucks when you get to the future and realize it is just as annoying as the past. What is up with that?!

Anyway, this is a ridiculous blog...but you know what I say about late night blogging...besides I generally choose to use my blog as a sounding board for all my pent up feelings...so you should be used to it by now....pay me no mind...

Laura Ferguson: College Graduate!

Hello faithful readers!
Just a quick note to let you all know that I am back at home!
Graduation was wonderful and it was great to have my family and a few friends there with me to help celebrate.
I will have more to say on the whole event in person no doubt. I hope to soon have pictures to be posted so that I can prove that I actually did graduate. lol. :)
My life is fairly unsettled at the moment. It is pretty annoying to be living out of boxes for an indefinite amount of time. All is well though. :)
Tomorrow I will start the pursuit of a job once again. You can all pray for me during this period as I decide what I am to do with myself now that I am done with SPU.
Anyway, had a good weekend! It is nice to be home and I hope to be spending a lot more time with all of you who are around town. It will nice to not have our time rushed and crammed into a weekend! :)

After I got back from hanging at JonTon's house my friends threw me a surprise graduation party! I thought I was just coming back to watch a movie with them, but they had planned a whole event. Oh my gosh, a week left!

So, it is merely a week away until I graduate! It is hard to believe. I finished up my papers on Thursday night (a lot earlier than expected!) and I felt a lot less stressed. I felt like I was done. Which at this point is not exactly true. I still have a couple of finals to live through. Although I am not really that worried about them...Which is sorta the problem. I know that I need to study for them. But I am having a very difficult time convincing myself to actually study for them. I woke up earlier today to attempt to work on them...but I didn't get very far. However, I still have Sunday and Monday. So there is still time. :)

Last night my friends and I went out to Olive Garden to celebrate the end of the year since the last day of classes was yesterday. :) It was great fun. We got their around 7 waited an hour or so for our seat and then didn't leave until 10:00! It was great fun. :) I have leftovers for today too! We stuffed ourselves last night it was pretty amazing. :)

Today I am off to JonTon's for Tonia's chick-flick day. It is sorta a continuation of her birthday celebration. It should be very relaxing and entertaining. :) Yay!

So...how 'bout that finals studying...heh.

um...yeah.

Well it is Friday. And while I should be excited that the week is over and I am one day closer to it all being over I am pretty much annoyed at life. I think I have decided that I hate transitions. Transitional stages in life generally suck. I like my life to be settled...I don't like my life to be all up in the air.

I hate that I don't know what I want to do with my life. I hate that I feel the need to live up to some unknown society standard...that when choosing a job I think to myself, "will this be good enough?"...Good enough for who exactly? I just don't want to be that girl...you know the one that finishes college, moves back home to her parents and works at Sears or some other equally lame job.

At every transitional stage in my life I continually think to myself, "if only I could skip the next 5-10 years..." Is life really going to be any better in 5-10 years? Who knows.

I am just frustrated this week I guess. Tired of counting down the ever elongating days. Ready for it all to be over and for life to be once again settled....

25 more days

I am fairly annoyed that it has been over a week since I have blogged last. I guess that goes to show you that I am fairly busy. Granted I have time to goof off, but apparently blogging hasn't been a priority this last week....well maybe it was just that I don't feel like I have much to say...

I went home this last weekend. That was really nice. I really really didn't want to come back to Seattle. :( I am ready for school to be over. I am tired of it all. Bleh! heh....Anyway, the weekend was good. I spent most of it with my friends I guess. Mom was gone so I only saw her on Sunday, which worked out well since it was Mother's Day. :) I also spent a lot of Saturday with at Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Larry's since Gloria and Deborah were down. It was a very relaxing weekend. :)

This week is moving by pretty slowly. I don't have anything major...I have a quiz on Friday, but other than that it is pretty easy. However, this weekend I have to work on a paper or two. They aren't due for a while, but I don't really have any other time to work on them...Hopefully it will go well. :)

I have been working on my resume and finally got it the way I like it. I am hoping to be able to put it to use soon. :)

How I spent my weekend, etc.


I thought that this weekend would be all work and no play, but it seemed to work out alright. I had 3 papers due Monday so I had to work pretty hard this weekend to get them finished...but not as hard as I thought I would have to. :) I finished one on Friday which I had started the weekend before. Then since it was Cinco de Mayo we decided to celebrate it how it was meant to be celebrated: chips, salsa, and a chick flick. hee hee. (see picture). Then on Saturday I woke up at a reasonable time and worked on my 2nd paper. I had about half of it done before lunch and then finished it by about 2:30 or 3. I was then able to go shopping with JonTon and hang out with them for the rest of the day. I was able to buy a nice pants suit that will come in handy for interviews in the near future. :) Then we chilled and played Settlers of Catan a few times...Jonathan won both. :( Then on Sunday I finished up my last paper which was really more of a question and answer session. I was able to chill a little on Sunday too. I had a Hall Council training meeting thing (for the newbies) in the evening. All and all it was a pretty good weekend. I was pretty happy with its results. :) I am looking forward to this weekend when I am coming home for a short visit. I don't know if I will be able to see anyone really, but it will be nice to be home. I will be home for a longer visit on Memorial Day weekend. :) This week is pretty busy. I have Hall Council tonight. Then tomorrow I have a late night filled with secret fun (any guesses?). Thursday will be spent with work, homework, and sleep, and Friday is Hall Council Initiation for the newbies (5 a.m. wake up call!) ugh. It should be fun though. :) I will be tired come this weekend though...it will be nice to come home....only 32 more days!
