Time for some serious blogging!!

Okay! So here I go.

It has been a busy last couple of days. Thursday we departed from JonTon's and headed to SPU. We arrived basically right at 9 a.m. Which is good because that was when they started letting people in and such. So...We got all the paper work done and were soon moving in my stuff. I was the first of my roommates to show up and therefore got my pick of everything. I chose the bottom bunk and the desk right in front of it. I was glad about that. Then about an hour later Bonnie showed up...And Anita didn't show up until later. Yeah, so then I proceeded to connect my computer and unpack and such. My computer was hard to get setup because of SPU's stupid things, but currently I am the only roommate with a working computer....So that is good....for me. hee hee

So the past few days has been full of a bunch of nonsense that I have done a pretty good job of avoiding. I attended some things today, but nothing too dull. :) I now have Microsoft Office on my computer! Which is completely thrilling. Yea! I am going to organize my closet after I am done blogging....

As part of the first night at Moyer we went Ice Blocking at Gasworks Park. For those who don't know Ice Blocking is when you slide down a hill on a block of ice. It was fun. I only did it once, but at least now I can say that I have done it. It was fun...And I was able to use Jimmy (my car). I drove 4 other people over to the park. It was nice.

Tomorrow the returning students start showing up and stuff, so that should be interesting. More names I have to learn. Joy.

Anyway, I guess that is all I have to say for now. :) ~Laura

A Quick Post.

Well folks I am here. And I know you are all wondering about my day and such, but it is kinda late and I am still attempting to be a good roommate so I should probably get ready for bed since they are. I will write more later. But for now you must appease yourself with knowing that I am alive, safe, and my room is basically unpacked. Yea!

I got the bed and the desk that I wanted and I have been able to bond with lots of people today. lol. Anyway, more later I promise.

Almost an SPUite...SPUian....well whatever

Well here I am blogging from JonTon's computer. It has been great fun. It is kinda hard to believe that tomorrow I will be in my dorm room! Yea! Supposedly not very many people arrive at 9 a.m., which is when I am getting there. So, I think that is a good thing. Than I can claim the good bed and desk and all will be well in Laura Land. I don't know when my roommates are showing up.

Yeah..So...It is sorta late so I should go to bed. We'll see if that actually happens or not. I might reply to some e-mails. Who knows when I will have Carter (my computer--for those who missed that) back up and running. It is rather annoying to have your computer disassembled. It is kinda unsettling...

Anyway, goodnight all. ~Laura

Um....The counting doesn't really apply anymore

Okay, so I know that everyone is confused. They are all like "When are you leaving" or "I thought you were leaving on Thursday" and it has reached a climax people! Here is the deal. I had previously planned to leave early early Thursday morning. However, we have since decided to go up to JonTon's on Wednesday night and then leave from there on Thursday morning. So...Does it all make sense now?

So, tonight I said goodbye to my friends. I think that they were the ones I was dreading saying goodbye to the most. I know that I will definitely see my family again, but sadly I may lose touch eventually with some of my friends. However, I do vow to make a very strong effort to avoid such a tragedy.

So, tomorrow is the big day. I am putting almost all of my worldly possessions into the cars and we are heading up to JonTon/SPU. Tomorrow I have to pack up Carter (my computer) and do a few last minute things...Ho hum.

Goodbye Sweet Longview
Goodbye house of mine on Larch St
Goodbye view of the RAL field
Goodbye Ocean Beach Highway
Goodbye Hollywood Video (I will miss you)
Goodbye cheap movie tickets...And cheap gas (*sobs*)
Goodbye small town that I generally (almost always)love
Goodbye Moon and
Goodbye Stars....lol

TOO! (hee hee)

Only two more days until I leave for SPU. Well one if you consider that I might head up Wednesday night to JonTon's. I can hardly believe that the time has finally come. It just doesn't seem real quite yet. I am really tired of people asking me if I am excited. I would like to make the promise that I will never as a college student that, but I fear that I would break it. Ahhh! I still have soo much to pack. I feel fairly prepared, but there is all these last minute things. Today was full of errands. Tomorrow is full of doctor appointments. Ah, the joys of leaving. It is kinda annoying to think that in 8 months I will be trying to wrap up ends on the other side of this coin. My roommate kinda compared it to an eight month vacation which is a funny thought. Anyway, I have tons I could be doing so I really shouldn't be sitting here in front of the computer...

F-I-V-E......

Well here I am at George Fox. Just watching Alias and hanging out. It is sooo much fun. Aren't you jealous! Anyway today was my last day of work. Only 5 more days until SPU. It is so exciting. I am getting really impatient.....

Thursday, September 16, 2004

Today was brought to you by the number 6!

Well tomorrow is my last day at work. I must say that I enjoy that fact. It has been a good summer job and I have enjoyed not working in fast food or something. However, it is still a job and as such I hate it. lol. I really am not a fan of work in general. Oh well, I guess I better get used to it.

This weekend I am visiting a friend down at George Fox University. It should be a really fun weekend. We are gonna hang out and watch Alias season 3. So...yeah. I am just spending Friday night and then coming back sometime on Saturday.

Anyway, I can't believe that I have less than a week left. I still have sooo much to do...I guess I should go to bed so that I don't have to think about it. lol.

The second post of the day!

A Relationship Survey

-What is love?
Read 1 Corinthians 13

-Do you believe that you can fall in love more than once with different people? Or do you believe that the only person you can fall in love with is the one you're meant to marry and every other time you only THINK you're in love?
That is a tough question. I think that quite often people only think they are in love, but in actuality they are experiencing the beginnings or possibly they are experiencing lust.

-Is love a feeling or a choice?
I would have to agree with Megan. It is definitely both.

-Do you believe in love at first sight?
Well I think that sometimes that happens. I mean I think that sometimes people just know that they are destined to be together, but I don't think it happens to everyone.

-How about soulmates?
Of course! But I do agree with Megan--Every relationship takes work. But when I think of soulmates I interpret it to mean...like...the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with--THE one!

-Can you fall in and out of love?
I think you can....But if you are in it for the long haul than you work at it and things will turn around.

-Are you afraid of marrying the wrong person?
Well...only slightly. I mean I would hope that I would have enough common sense to be able to tell the difference..but then I watch movies like The Perfect Murder or Enough and that makes me wonder....lol.

-Are you afraid of never getting married?
Afraid is probably too strong of a word. I know that I can be totally happy not being married, however I also know that I have envisioned myself married since as long as I can remember so, it would probably be a bit of a disappointment at times if I never got married....but I am not afraid of it.

-Have you ever had a crush on...
~A movie/tv star? (You can name them if you want)
Well...I don't know. I am not really big on crushes of people I can never have...but there are those that I find attractive and all....

~A movie/tv character?
Well considering my answer to the question above you would think that I wouldn't have..but I get entirely too wrapped up in my tv shows and can't help but wish that I knew some of them in real life.

~A cartoon character or one from an animated movie?
See....I just don't get that.

~A character from a book?
um....Probably...again, you see I get entirely too wrapped up in the story and want the characters to be real.

~Someone you met online?
Oh yeah!

~Your friend's boyfriend/girlfriend?
hmmm....yes and no...but mostly no.

~Someone significantly older/younger than you?
No

~Someone who was married?
Again...No.

-Should a girl...
~Ask a guy out?
Sure. Why not. Although I find it doubtful that I ever would....unless....

~Call a guy?
Again...why not...although I don't think that guys really like that all that much....

~Ask a guy to marry her?!
Well it is more romantic if the guy does it...but whatever.

-What do you think about...
~Sex?
absolutely nothing because I am a good Christian girl who never even mentions the word. hee hee. ;)

~Homosexuality?
Boy is that a loaded question. Obviously the Bible is pretty black and white on this issue. However, I don't see the point of Christians fighting really hard to persuade outsiders to agree with them on this issue because it really does no good. Both sides are too passionate to even see the other side. I really don't understand those who think writing a letter to the editor will solve the worlds problems....

~Marriage?
Is it my turn yet?

~Divorce?
I don't think that people try very hard to stay together anymore...plus I think that too many people get married for the wrong reasons and then realize that they made a mistake.

-What kind of qualities do you want in a boyfriend/girlfriend?
Strong Christian, humorous, integrity...etc. etc.

-Have you ever been in love?
sigh. No.

-Have you ever had your heart broken?
Thankfully not.

-Do you think that you will marry for love, or for something else like money?
You gotta have the love!

-Would you start seeing someone even if your friends and/or family disapproved?
Probably not. My friends and family are a pretty good judge of character.

-Would you elope?
Sure! After watching the process of the JonTon wedding....I kept thinking "It would be so much less hassle just to elope..." :)

The End!

Seven-seven-boven-me-my-mo-meven--Seven!

My walls are now once again white...well offwhite. It is slightly depressing. I am almost done cleaning out my room. Boxes are getting closed up and things are getting sorted out. Everything is coming together...Mostly. I have a whole list of things I need to do before I leave.
1) Register to vote Absentee
2) Make/Reschedule doctor appointments
3) Go shopping
4) order checks
5) update resume
6) etc. etc. etc.

Well you get the idea..And that doesn't include all the people I have to say goodbye to. Oh dear...Going to college is more difficult than one would think...

Ate...I mean...EIGHT!!!!!!!

Another song I take to heart:

I wanna do it all
by Terri Clark

I'm sitting in traffic
For the 5th year in a row
Wasting my time
Just to get
Where I don't even wanna go
I started jotting things down
On a krispy kreme sack
Everything I'd do
If I could leave this place
And never look back

(Chorus)
I wanna do it all
Visit Paris in the fall
Watch the Yankees play ball
I wanna take it all in
Catch a few beads
Down at Mardi Gras
Start a tradition
Lay down the law
I wanna do it all

I want to drink tequila
Down in Tijuana
Say why not
When somebody says
Hey do you wanna
I wanna get my heart broke
Once or twice
Settle down with the love of my life
Rock little babies to sleep at night

I wanna spend a day
Every now and then
Just doin what I want to do
When I wanna do it
Anytime I wanna do it

(Chorus)

I wanna do it all
See Niagara falls
Fight city hall
Feel good in my skin
Beating the odds
With my back to the wall
Try to rob Peter
Without paying Paul
I wanna do it all
I wanna do it all
I wanna do it all

Nine (9)

I hate when I have so much to say and really no way to put it into words. No matter how hard I try it just comes out sounding stupid. Why is that? Why is it that when I need it most the English language always seems to fail me. It is times like this that I almost wish I spoke another language because maybe it would enable me to say what I want to. But alas, I am a shallow American who has learned no other languages....

It's a weird feeling being on the verge of a new personal frontier. You have all sorts of unanswered questions. Will I be liked? Will I be overly homesick? Will I be able to coexist with my roommates? Will I meet the guy of my dreams? Will I feel overwhelmed and wish I had stayed in my safety net of Longview?....

The semi annoying thing is that there is no way to answer those questions...well not really anyway. There are the obvious statements---I will be homesick at some point...And at least one person will like me I'm sure....And my roommates seem nice....And I will most definitely feel overwhelmed at times....as for the guy of my dreams--who knows.

Ah well. Only one way to find out for sure I guess....

10.....

Wow! My final ten days! That is kinda scarey. I still have tons to do!

So...Yesterday Teresa and I went to visit JonTon. It was really fun. We got to hang out and watch lots and lots of Alias. hee hee. I am really excited to be moving up closer to them and all. It should be good.

....It is weird really. I mean I am excited about college and all...But still it is kinda intimidating. Anyway...If I continue on in the line of thought I might actually begin to share my feelings. lol. j/k. It is just getting kinda late and as previously mentioned in other blogs--late night blogging should be avoided. hee hee.

11 more days!

Well my parents are gone on their anniversary trip. It really was quite difficult to get them out the door. I have decided that this whole house will fall apart after I leave. Everyone will begin to think too much of themselves and will have no idea what to do since I won't be there to instruct them. It's sad really.

Today Teresa and I are going up to Renton to visit JonTon. It should be quite enjoyable. I always...well pretty much always...Enjoy driving on the freeway. It is really fun. lol. Anyway...

Last night I had a few friends over. It wasn't quite a wild party but....Okay! Okay! It wasn't wild at all...Unless you consider watching 6 hours of Gilmore Girls wild...It was fun though. :)

And so the countdown continues...

Well it is another one of those days where I have nothing to say and yet continue to type anyway. My blog just calls to me and I must fill it up. After all if I don't who will? And so to fill space I thought I would share a song with you. :) Enjoy.

A Beautiful Letdown
by Switchfoot
It was a beautiful letdown
when I crashed and burned
when I found myself alone, unknown and hurt

It was a beautiful letdown
the day I knew
that all the riches this world had to offer me
would never do

In a world full of bitter pain
and bitter doubt
I was trying so hard to fit in,
until I found out

I don't belong here
I don't belong here
I will carry a cross and a song
where I don't belong.

It was a beautiful letdown
when you found me there
and for once in a rare blue moon
I see everything clear

I'll be a beautiful letdown
that's what I'll forever be
and though it may cost my soul
I'll sing for free

We're still chasing our tails
and the rising sun
and our dark water planet
still spins in a race
where no one wins
and no one's one

I don't belong here
I don't belong here
I'm gonna set sight
and set sail for the kingdom come
Your kingdom come
Won't you let me down!
Let my foolish pride forever let me down

Easy living, you're not much like your name
Easy dying, you look just about the same
Would you please take me off your list?
Easy living, please come on and let me down

What a beautiful letdown
painfully uncool
The church of the drop outs, the losers,
the sinners, the failures, and the fools.
What a beautiful letdown
are we salt in the wound?
Let us sing one true tune.

15 More Days!

Well today I didn't really do anything related to college prep. I worked and hung out.....

I worked from 9:30 until 3:00 (5 hours for those of you who don't care to do the math). Then I went to the bank. Then I came home and watched Dr. Phil and On-Air with Ryan Seacrest (well, part of each). Then I read for a bit. Then I dinked around on my computer--checked my e-mail (all 3 of them), checked out my blog ("Did anybody comment?"), and I chatted with some of my peeps (Megan, Bonnie, Deborah, and Kristen). Then Megan came over to watch Amazing Race with me.

All and all it was a very enjoyable day. I should work on my room some more tomorrow though. Anyway...ttfn. ~Laura

16 more days until I leave for SPU

Happy Labor Day! Well I am here to tell you that I don't mean to depress anyone with my count down. However, I will continue doing it just so that everyone will be prepared for my departure.

Today I went shopping for things I need for college. Listed below is basically what I bought (Since I know you are all wondering):
-a green blanket
-shampoo
-3 pjs
-a clip-on oscillating fan :)
-bandaids
-cold medication
-a belt
-toiletries
-hand sanitizer
-and a few other things I am sure...

Did you know that this town seems to be sold out of college rule paper! Neither Walmart nor Target had any. All they had was Wide Rule...What's up with that?!

This evening I cleaned out my room a little more. I am definitely making progress...Really! I am!....

17 days until I leave for SPU

Well 17 days until I leave for college and here I am cleaning out my room. It is quite a daunting task. I wasn't sure I could handle it but decided today was the day I would dive in! And so I did. This has led me to think several important thoughts such as:
"Why did I keep this miniature glow in the dark frog?"
"Remind me again why I ever thought collecting anything was a good idea...."
"Wow, I have a lot of cobwebs in my room..."
"My room is going to be kinda sad and empty for the next 17 days."
"Would anyone at a garage sale buy 4 bendable dalmatians with different colored collars?"
"Will everyone be sad and disappointed that I am sorta...Basically...Stopping my dalmatian faze?"
"AAAAAAhhhhh! There is too much! I can't handle it!"
"Oh look, it is my friends old school pictures...Andrea, Megan, Bethany, Diane, Veronica, and Kristen...oh and look: Rashelle, Katrina, Lisa, and Kevin."
"Hey! It is a cork that looks like Darth Vader...Definitely need to keep that!"
"Oh look, the mop octopus I made with Aunt Linda! Definitely a Keep! :) ...I should make another one...After all you can't have too many mop octopuses!"
"My pet rock!"
"Dalmatian earmuffs! Now who can go wrong with those!"
"1 drawer down only 14 more to go!"
Mom: "I think I am wearing out. We should quit for now."
Laura: "What? Why? It is only 9:30 p.m."

Anyway, that is basically how this cleaning session went. I may keep you up to date on future sessions if you so desire. ttfn. ~Laura

18 Days until I leave for SPU!

What kind of chocolate are you? So far everyone I know has gotten "Chocolate". Will you get a different one?!

cho
You're chocolate. You're the old soul type, people
feel that they have known you their entire
life. Many often open up to you for they view
you as thoughtful and trustworthy. Although
people trust you, you have a hard time trusting
them. You prefer to keep your feelings bottled
up inside, or display them very quietly. It is
alright to open up every once in a while.

20 Days until I leave for SPU

Well here I am again! Did you miss me? I am kinda still house-sitting, but expect to be done any day now. I am ready to be done. It is both enjoyable and unenjoyable at the same time. Which causes a very weird mixture of emotions and I think it is kinda stressing me out. lol.

Won't be long now before I leave for SPU. I still have way too much to do. I prefer not to think of all the things that still need done. It is yet another thing that is stressing me out.

Well....this blog has sure made me feel better....or not.

23 Days until I leave for SPU

I am currently still house-sitting. Jaeyeon got stuck in Canada and I will be house-sitting until they get back. I am enjoying it...mostly. Anyway, don't worry, I am still alive. :) ~Laura

Hello, my name is Laura Ferguson and I am an Internet Addict

Here I am again with nothing to post about. I often wish that I had more fascinating things to say to ya'all. Why is that? I should just be more like other blogging people and only post when I have something of semi-importance to say. But you see I just get so bored that I feel I must do something to take up my time. At which time I turn to my trusty computer. I check my e-mail, I chat with my people, I read everyone's blog, I play games, and I blog. Such is my life. I am not sure what I would do with my time if I didn't have a computer. I guess I would find some other pathetic thing to take up my time. I do that, jump from one pathetic technological addiction to another...hmmm...Perhaps I should go check my e-mail one more time before I go to bed...Maybe just maybe I will have a new message. Which would really excite me! Yea!!....

Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah

Well this is another one of those posts where you will get basically nothing out of me. I feel like typing and yet know not what to type about. I hate when that happens. Although, generally when that happens I just let my fingers do the talking...And usually end up with a profound thought or two, however that doesn't seem to be happening tonight. Oh well, sometimes life is like that. I guess I should I have known. Well, tomorrow is another day...Maybe I will have something profound to share with you then. ttfn. ~Laura

More Wedding Pictures!!!!!

Okay, as promised here are more pictures of the "JonTon Wedding."

Here is a picture of Mom and Dad. Doesn't my dad look good in a tux! Everyone looked wonderful and it was a really good wedding. :)

 Posted by Hello

Jonathan and Tonia went to the lake to take some pictures before the ceremony. The getaway driver drove them there and was able to snag a few pictures for us. Below is a glimpse of what went on.

After the ceremony and the reception JonTon had one final dance and then they were off in the getaway car! Below are a few candids from the getaway.

After the getaway it was cleanup time! So we brought all the presents from the church to my house...in the rain! Needless to say we got really, really wet. Below are a few snap shots!

Congrats to JonTon

The Bride Posted by Hello

Well my older brother is now officially married. It kind of baffles my mind to think of such things. I can't believe it has finally happened! It is so exciting. I am glad the ceremony went so smoothly and that everything was so beautiful. It was really a great wedding.

There are really no words for moments like these. But I wish the bride and groom much happiness. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Ferguson.

I feel like I should update my blog...But no one I know has recently updated...So...Maybe I won't either. Take that!...or perhaps they are waiting for someone to lead the way. Perhaps they need someone to step up and say "I will update today!"

I can be that person! I can lead the way. Look at me, I am blogging! Go Me! Come! Join me!

Everyone repeat after me: "Today is a good day to blog!"

Random Rantings

Do you ever wonder why things happen the way they do? I mean why do some people have it so good, and others seem to have all the bad luck. One would think that the world could be a little more balanced. And yet, I guess it is really all our own fault. Maybe we should have listened more, cared more. Maybe then things would have been different. But they aren’t different. Things are the way the are. Nobody can change it, it just is. We can either accept it or go insane trying to make things like the way we picture they should be. After all things never turn out exactly the way we hoped, and if we do we find ourselves wishing that they turned out differently. That seems to be the paradox of life.

We as humans strive for perfection, and yet when you stop and think you have to wonder what perfection really is, and why anyone would want it. What makes perfection the goal? Humans are silly creatures we never are truly content, we always want more. Always striving to make things better. We continue like this until something causes us to stop and really think. And when we do we realize that even though our lives are always a little messed up they are perfect in there own twisted way. It really is a strange phenomenon.

The newest Happy Couple

Diane and Chris Hayes Posted by Hello

Well today was the wedding of Diane Mills and Chris Hayes. It was a good wedding. Everything went well...The candlelighters had some trouble, but it was kinda funny in a cute way so...yeah.

Now I am off to a "We're-not-gettin'-any-but-that's-okay party." hee hee. ~Laura

The Totally Not Boring Day!!

By Laura Ferguson

Teresa says I had a boring day and that I have nothing to blog about. But I am out to prove her wrong!!!!!

This morning I got up at 9:30! I made my way to the shower and was able to get through it spider free. wink wink. Since I was going to work at 11:00 I needed to eat a brunch instead of a breakfast. So, I had left-over mac-and-cheese with some crackers and milk. I ate it while watching Ellen on television. I got to see Queen Latifa, Bachelor Bob, and Cheryl Crow. It was fascinating.

So, then it was off to work. At work I spent the first part of my time working in medical records filing charts etc. Then I started on my other project. While doing my other project I listened to my radio. So, I got to listen to my county station all day long. It was fascinating.

After work I came home and changed to go to the movies with Teresa, Mom, Grandma, and Deborah. I had to really pressure people out the door since they (mom) were being slow. It didn't help that Jonathan decided to call right as we were gonna leave. What was he thinking! So...We went to see "Princess Diaries 2--The Royal Engagement." It was cute, but not as good as the first one. But it was about what I expected...It was fascinating.

After the movie I came back home for a bit to check e-mail and such before heading over to Grandma Ruth's to play some cards. We played a couple games, but I was unsuccessful in my attempts to win. Oh well....It was fascinating.

I am currently surfing the web and chatting with my peeps. I have caught myself up on Strongbad e-mails, and found out what is going on currently with Outback Jack and his girl Natalie. I have also attempted to figure out 'the mystery of the hidden buddy icon.' But I was unsuccessful. It has been fascinating. ;)

SO! TAKE THAT TERESA! MY TOTALLY NOT BORING DAY. HMPH.

Star Gazing

Tonight...er...this morning Megan, Teresa, Deborah and I went star gazing. We wanted to see the meteor shower. It was pretty cool. I have never done that before, so it was quite the deal. The shooting stars were really cool. We were at the park on West Side Highway....I have determined that I am a semi-paranoid-fraidie-cat. I think I have watched too many episodes of CSI or something. I am kinda chicken. But it was worth it. I had a good time. Thanks for thinking of it Megan!

Season Finale of Outback Jack

Outback Jack Posted by Hello

Well tonight I watched the season finale of 'Outback Jack.' I must say that I have had fun hanging out with Megan and watching this show. It was a good reality show. Megan and I were a bit surprised by the ending, but we were glad. Mr. Outback Jack chose Natalie over our anticipated choice of Marissa. It has been a debate between Megan and I on whether we like Marissa..I think that Natalie is the better choice for Jack however. I kinda doubt any long term relationship will form though. But oh well.

Welcome to Moyer Hall, Room 207!!

Well guys I found out where I am staying at SPU. Moyer! Yea! I am staying in a triple which is okay I guess. I have been conversing with one of my roommates through e-mail, but haven't heard anything from my other one. I am looking forward to this next year, it should be an adventure....

My weekends are too busy. Just once I would like to have a weekend where I do nothing...Actually I take that back, it isn't that I don't enjoy doing the things...I think I would just like to have a weekend that just happened, instead of having things planned. Oh well.

This weekend was once again filled with family activities (sorta). Saturday was the Terry/Taylor Garage Sales. Which to me is a family event because I spend the whole day with extended relatives. It is always a great time. I think I killed my feet though. They were so tired after walking all over and carrying all of Gloria's purchases. lol. I didn't buy much, just 6 cds. But they were fun ones. :)

So...yeah, that is what I did this weekend. Don't you feel better because I informed you?

Friday, August 06, 2004

Well today was a good day. It is always nice when you can see/realize God's blessings. He is good, all the time.

I wish....

-I wish that summer would move a little quicker.

-I wish that I didn't have to worry about paying for college.

-I wish I had thicker hair.

-I wish I could see Sarah sooner than next summer.

-I wish I had a boyfriend.

-I wish Jacob would get done with my laptop.

-I wish that I would exercise more and eat less.

-I wish that I enjoyed my job more.

-I wish I knew what my future held...

What a weekend!!!

Well this weekend was really full, but it was also really fun. I spent it helping Aunt Linda entertain the Japanese visitors. We had a blast.

On Friday night Teresa and I went over to Aunt Linda's and joined the party! Some of my friends came over too so that we would have the proper number of people to play Bunco. We had lots of fun.

Then on Saturday I joined Aunt Linda and her herd in our adventure at Portland's Saturday Market. We had fun and the girls were able to buy a lot of things...They enjoyed that. I had never been to the Saturday Market so it was fun for me too.

On Sunday we went to church and then headed for the beach! We had a picnic at the Astoria Column. Then we headed to Longbeach where played a little in the water and went shopping, and enjoyed various street acts. It was a very good day.

Needless to say I was pretty exhausted after all that. I must say that I had a good time though. I would definitely do it again. Plus I got to hang out with Aunt Linda for a weekend, which is always fun. :)

Friday, July 30, 2004

Well I survived another week. This one was full of more work than I think I have done in quite some time. But I got my paycheck today and it a lot bigger than I have seen in a while. Which is nice.

This weekend is full of activity. I am helping Aunt Linda entertain the guests from Japan. It should be a fun filled weekend. I am hoping that the girls are easy to entertain...I just am not very good with new people. lol. I am sure everything will work out though.

I'll let you know how it went! ttfn. ~Laura

A poem brought on by my dull life....

I Wish I Could Say
by Laura Ferguson

I wish I could say I did something exciting today
like eating pizza at a Paris Cafe...

I wish I could say I did something exciting today
like playing croquet in Monterrey...

I wish I could say I did something exciting today
like riding in a sleigh while eating a souffle...

I wish I could say I did something exciting today
like becoming a stowaway on a flight to Santa Fe...

I wish I could say I did something exciting today
like traveling in a rocket to tour the Milky Way....

I wish I could say I did something exciting today
like stalking prey while away in Bombay...

I wish I could say I did something exciting today
like gazing at a Monet while wearing a beret...

I wish I could say I did something exciting today
but alas, my life is so passe.

Money, Money, Money...Money!

Well today I spent the entire day earning money. I worked at LSG for 6 hours and then was home for about an hour before leaving to babysit. Tomorrow I do about the same thing, but with less of each. I will only be going to work for about 4 hours and babysitting for about 2-3 hours. It is nice to be making money though, it is needed....

Did you read the comic Zits today? It seemed applicable to my life. However, it is hard to explain over Blog. (Aren't you glad I brought it up though. lol.)

I have to get up semi-early tomorrow, so I should get to bed. ttfn. ~Laura

A Full Weekend...

Well this weekend has bee quite full. JonTon was down and we celebrated Jonathan's 23rd birthday.  The weekend was full of events either for Jonathan's birthday or for the JonTon wedding coming up in August. It was full, but fun...

On Saturday the family headed up to Mt. St. Helens. It was kinda nice to go their since it has been a while since I last went. We went to all the interpretive centers and stuff so it was very eventful. Mom and I enjoyed taking digital pictures. Below is a picture mom took of the rest of us in front of the mountain. It was a very fun day.

Today JonTon went home and Teresa and I have the house to ourselves. So far we have spent the day wandering around Walmart waiting for my car to be finished getting its oil changed. Great fun...I think we will go see a movie later this afternoon though.  Anyway, tomorrow another eventful week begins. Oh dear...

The Adventures of House-sitting!

Well for the last couple of days I have been house-sitting for Diane/Jacob.  I will be doing it until Friday night. So far it has been pretty good.  I get to watch all their DVD's and hang out with their dogs. Fluffy (pictured below) is very lovable, however, their other dog Angelina kinda dislikes people in general. She loves Diane/Jacob but really can't stand anyone else. Oh well, I can deal with that I guess. She basically is just pretty antisocial. She hides under a pile of dirty clothes. lol. Anyway, other than working and house-sitting my life has been pretty uneventful. How 'bout yours?....

Pirctures from Diane/Jacob's Wedding!

Here are some pictures from Diane and Jacob's wedding. I am not much in the mood to blog right now, but wanted to share the pictures with those that care. :)  It was a beautiful ceremony and I had a lovely time. :)  The pictures are kinda cronologically backwards or something, but I think you can figure it out. Enjoy! ~Laura

Ooooh! Updated Blog Format!

I logged on to Blogger tonight to see that they had updated it with cool new features! Which of course made me extremely happy. Now I can type in all sorts of colors, and upload pictures easier, and format my blog! How exciting!!

See, now I can type in blue and have it centered. Isn't this fun?! Tonia and Jonathan are here and we have been watching Alias. Tomorrow we leave for Diane Miollis' wedding! This weekend marks the beginning of the "Summer of Weddings" for me.  First is Diane/Jacob, then comes Diane/Chris, and then comes JonTon.  Fun, fun, fun!

Anyway, I am obviously having way too much fun with my new blog stuff. However, it is late/early and I need go to bed. You will no doubt experience more of my blogging fun soon. However I will probably not post much this weekend since I will be busy doing other things. Hope your weekend is as fun filled as mine!

My Day

Today was a day like any other day. It was full of the routine circumstances that have become my life. It could be considered by some to be pathetic, and truth be told I might agree with them. However, for whatever reason, I am here. And because I am here I figure I might as well enjoy it. Right? Who am I to complain about routine circumstances?--It is at this point where I am sure someone would say "People all over the world have it worse..." or some such fiddle faddle, because you see that is what all good Americans would say at such a point. We find it makes us sound less full of ourselves. Which of course is just silly...

Anyway, I digress. I think my point was that I did nothing worthwhile to report today...

Outback Jack Posted by Hello

Reality TV

Every Tuesday for the last couple of weeks I have looked forward to the opportunity to watch great Reality Tv. Megan has got me hooked on a tbs show "Outback Jack." I must say that it is a really great show. hee hee. It is kinda a mix between "Survivor" and "The Bachelor." Basically a bunch of prissy girls are thrown into the Outback and are trying to win the heart of the rugged Jack. Television at its best. lol. Anyway, I thought I would share my obsession with you all. I personally don't think that 'Outback Jack' is the most attractive man, but that's okay. He isn't bad to look at. lol.

A Late Night Post...

It is probably a bit dangerous to post late at night. You never know what you might end up saying. Posts late at night no doubt bring confusion in the morning. "What did I really mean when I wrote this?" or "Why on earth did I admit to that?" Nothing good can come from them I am sure. The same goes for instant messaging I think. One always has the most interesting conversations late at night. Then the next morning you realize how foolish you sounded. These things should be considered before undertaking such tasks. Perhaps Microsoft should create some pop-up message that informs you of the dangers of such undertakings. "Warning. Late night conversations (blog posts or instant messages) may be regrettable. Are you sure you wish to proceed?" I think that would definitely stop some of the late night typing. After all, everyone hates pop-up messages and will do almost anything to avoid them. So, now that I have solved a crucial world problem I should probably go to bed. Good Night all.

Patience isn't easy...

Today I turned 19. It is kinda surreal to be 19 since I never really got used to being 18. Where has the last year gone? It has seemed to zip by. Part of me is hoping that this next year will go by just as quickly. I don't know, I am tired of waiting for my life to be at the point I want it to be at...Does that make sense? I want to wake up and be like 24ish, married with one kid. Is that weird? One day I suppose I will be 24ish and wish I could be 19 again. Life just isn't fair I guess....

Oh well. Life is good, I guess I can't complain really... :)

Tomorrow is my b-day!!

Today was a rather eventful day. We went to a car show this morning that my dad's band was playing at. It was pretty cool, but we didn't stay long because we were leaving to Clackamas. Mom took me shopping for my birthday! I was rather successful with my purchases. I got 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of dress pants, 2 shirts, and some dress shoes for the JonTon wedding. Yeah! Go me!!

Despite the success of our mission, we were all tired out by the end of the day. We came home and watched a Tom Hanks movie. Teresa and I also played another round of LTR Monopoly. All and all it was a good day.

Tomorrow I will celebrate my birthday. One of my favorite things to do!

3 Days Until My Birthday!!

Today was a fun day. I went to lunch with my friends to Olive Garden. I had my usual, Chicken Alfredo. Good food and good company are always a wonderful combination. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

After lunch we went to see "The Notebook." I really liked this movie, but failed to see why everyone said it was so sad. I had heard over and over again how sad it was and so throughout the whole movie I was waiting for a really sad part, and found that none came. I will admit it could be considered a touching story, but did not find it worth crying over...But perhaps I am a bad person to judge such things since I never cry over movies....or anything (almost). Kristen however, did find it worth crying over and did lots of it, for which I proceeded to mock her for the rest of the day. hee hee, aren't I nice. In fact I found the movie so sad that at the end when others were mopping up their tears I laughed. That's right I laughed. I couldn't resist the temptation to laugh at the fact that anyone could find that movie worth crying over. Oh well, I guess I am just cold hearted....

4 Days Until My Birthday!!

I just 'finished' playing my sister Monopoly. It was great fun. I must admit that I have grown to love that game over the last couple of years. I think it is a really cool game. Teresa got a Lord of the Rings Monopoly game for her birthday and so that is what we were playing. She was having fun mocking me for not knowing what things were. Oh well. I had my fair share of mocking opportunities as well. It was fun to call Gandolf Dumbledore...hee hee.

Anyway, I am looking forward to tomorrow when I get to go to Olive Garden with my friends to celebrate my birthday! Great fun!!

5 Days Until My Birthday!!

This evening I went over to Megan's and watched reality TV! We watched "Outback Jack." It is a thoroughly enjoyable show which takes place in Australia with prissy girls trying to win the heart of an Aussie guy. Tonight my favorite girl kinda got kicked out, but the good news is that she is coming back next episode as a kinda twist thing. So, that is good.

Then Megan and I watched the final hour of "Amazing Race." This is my second favorite reality television show (Survivor is my first!). I missed the first half hour, but most of the important stuff I was able to pick up on. And it looks like it should be a great season!

Yeah for Reality TV!!

4th of July

I love the 4th of July. I think it is my second favorite holiday. It is so much fun here in Longview on the 4th. I love the festivities. I enjoy the time spent with friends and family. It is great. I mean on what other holiday do you actually get to play with fire? Anyway, hope everyone else had as enjoyable time as I did!
